Commercial real estate developer Robert Congel is raising a whopping $20 billion to build Destiny USA, a 75-million sf entertainment complex in upstate New York.

Along with a myriad of shops and restaurants, the complex will house a 200-acre biosphere complete with an artificial river for kayaking and a 24-hour research facility dedicated to testing advanced technologies in renewable energy.

The structure is organized into nine specific lifestyle zones, including Tech Walk, a 365-day-a-year technology tradeshow, and Home Life, where everything for your home and lawn can be tested and purchased.

The entire facility will run 100 percent fossil fuel free to serve as an example of how to reduce the U.S. dependency on oil.

It is predicted that the creation of Destiny USA, which is set to begin this year, will create 250,000 new jobs and more than $65 billion in net new taxes over 30 years.
