Dallas Does Green

The City of Dallas has long been a leader among other cities in the U.S. when it comes to green and sustainable initiatives and practices.

Dallas buys 40% of all its energy from 100% wind energy sources.

The city has converted over 40% of its fleet to alternative fuel vehicles including CNG, bio-fuel and gas-electric hybrids.

Dallas is implementing a program to process sludge from our water treatment plant and convert the energy to power the plant.

The city boasts one of the most progressive green building codes in the country requiring all municipal buildings over 10,000 square feet built to LEED Silver or higher standards.
